Portis subject of witch-hunt investigation

Sunday, Nov 04, 2007 - 12:53:39 pm CST

Plattsmouth's new city administrator Erwin Portis is subject of an investigation conducted by an independent contractor at the request of the city of Jackson, Mich.

Risk Management Associates of Raleigh, NC., conducted the investigation citing 37 allegations/statements against the Jackson Police Department while Portis served as police chief. Of the 37, four were against other employees in the city of Jackson. Of the 33 left, 31 were unfounded or unsustained, in other words lacking the evidence to prove the incidents actually occurred or were actually events in which Portis abused his authority as police chief.

See details of the report in the Nov. 1 issue of The Journal.
