
LOUISVILLE – The community is gearing up for "Last Hot Sunday in July" July 27.
Some of the events visitors and residents can look forward to are Louisville Liquor holding a rum-tasting contest. Stop by and sample some Cruzan rum. You can register there to win an autographed Kenny Chesney guitar.
Louisville Art Gallery will conduct a beer tasting sponsored by Nebraska Brewing Company.
Nancy McManus said they are receiving online registrations at the community Web site.
Anyone wishing to sign up in advance of Sunday’s Auto, Truck Show and Shine can do so by following a link at
louisvillenebraska.com. Deadline for advance registration is 4 p.m. July 26.
Day of the show registration sign up begins Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Art and classic cars will be on display.
There will be a bake sale by Girl Scouts at Home State Bank parking lot.
Barbecue brisket sandwiches, hot dogs and beverages will be served. Funds go to a local scholarship fund.
Nebraska Lottery will also be set up in front of Jeff’s Jack and Jill Grocery. Commemorative T-shirts donated by Copple Chevrolet, Louisville Art Gallery and Louisville Care Community will be available.
Local businesses on Main Street will also be open for shopping.
The community is encouraging everyone to come out and enjoy the fourth annual "Last Hot Sunday in July." It’s sponsored by Businesses United In Louisville Development (BUILD) and supported in part by a grant from Cass County Visitor Promotion Committee.
