MURRAY - One person was hurt in a two-vehicle injury accident just before 8 p.m. Aug. 21.
Cass County Deputy sheriff's investigators say Sandra Farkas, 58, of Murray was traveling south on Highway 75. She attempted to turn east onto Rock Bluff Road in front of a northbound truck driven by John Bicknell, 35, of Topeka, Kan. The truck struck the right side of Farkas' vehicle sending it north into a ditch where it struck a light pole. Farkas car landed on its top while Bicknell's truck was on its side. Murray Fire Department personnel had to extract Farkas from her car. She was transported to Creighton University Medical Center by medical helicopter. Her condition is not being released. Bicknell was checked by Murray rescue at the scene.
Investigators say both drivers were using safety belts and alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
