Area teams to start seasons Thursday, Friday

Area softball, football and girls golf teams will kick off their 2008 seasons Thursday and Friday across southeast Nebraska.

The Conestoga softball team will play David City and Raymond Central at the David City triangular beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The Cass County Central Crush softball team will begin the year against Lutheran High Northeast at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The game will take place at Ash Grove Field in Louisville. Plattsmouth's softball team will also start its season Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. home game against defending Class B champion Elkhorn.

Plattsmouth's girls golf team will host Auburn at Bay Hills Golf Club at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Three Cass County football teams will play road games to start the year Friday night. Plattsmouth will travel to Norris, Louisville will play at Nebraska City Lourdes and Elmwood-Murdock will go to Palmyra. All games start at 7 p.m.

Conestoga will host Lyons-Decatur Northeast at 7 p.m. Friday and Weeping Water will host Johnson County Central at 7 p.m.

What is the out look of the PHS cross country team now that Joel and Adam are gone.
