At about 8:58 a.m., Cass County Sheriff's office responded accident at the intersection of Highways 50 and 1 involving a state of Nebraska snow plow and a car.

A 2003 International Department of Roads snowplow, driven by Cole T. Rhoades, age 21, from Plattsmouth was traveling southbound on Highway 50 and attempted to turn around on the highway, when the blade of the snowplow collided with a northbound white colored 2005 Chevrolet Classic 4 door car, driven by Rachel L. Tipton, age 22 from Weeping Water.

Rhoades stated that a semi tractor pulling a pup had just passed him going northbound, and due to the wind and blowing snow he did not see Tipton’s vehicle following behind.   Tipton had to be extricated from her vehicle, and was transported by Weeping Water Rescue to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for injuries she sustained from the accident.   Rhoades was transported by Elmwood Rescue to Midlands Hospital for minor injuries.  Both Tipton and Rhoades were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
