Work to begin on US-75, Nebraska City to Union

Tuesday, Oct 27, 2009 - 09:22:10 am CDT

Work is scheduled to begin Nov. 2 on US-75 from 1.5 miles north of Nebraska City to Union, US-34 junction, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

Park Construction of Hampton, Minn., has the $199,658 contract for crack sealing

and fog sealing operations.  A fog seal uses thin oil to seal fine cracks in newer pavement to keep moisture out and helps pavement last longer.  Work is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2010.

Traffic will be maintained on US-75 at all times.  Pilot cars and flaggers will be used during the construction operations.  Motorists are reminded that fines for speeding are doubled when workers are present.  Drivers should watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting work areas.

The Roads’ Department manager for this project is Mike Habegger of Tecumseh.
